LIFE GROUPS. Life Groups are a small group ministry that meet on the first Sunday of each month at various locations, including homes, parks, the Fellowship Hall, the Family Activity Center, and the Buffs for Christ building on the WTAMU campus. The focus of this ministry is fro group members to develop closer relationships and engage in Bible study in a way that is not ordinarily possible at regular worship services. Life Group leaders provide planning, places for hosting, and/or leading Bible studies.
VISITATION. Visitation is one of the keys to the growth and well-being of our congregation, including visiting the sick, encouragement visits to members, and visiting newcomers to our congregation.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION. This ministry focuses on helping new members feel welcomed to our congregation and to integrate into the congregation’s various ministries. They are responsible for helping new members fill out church worker surveys and have their pictures taken for the church directory.
CARD MINISTRY. This ministry effectively reaches out to people through the sending of birthday and anniversary cards, thank you, and get-well cards.
RANDALL COUNTY JAIL BIBLE STUDY. Every Monday evening, men from University conduct a Bible study in the Randall County jail. Throughout the years, this ministry has led many prisoners to be baptized.
WEDDING MINISTRY. This ministry assists couples who are preparing for their weddings. Workers in this ministry communicate building use policies, oversee wedding supplies and equipment, assist with rehearsals, and operate media equipment.
QUILTING MINISTRY. Anyone who enjoys quilting can utilize their talents in making quilts for newlyweds and those in need. Quilters enjoy a special room at University dedicated to this ministry.
WIDOWS & SENIORS ASSISTANCE. This ministry helps older Christians who may need assistance with seasonal yard work, moving furniture, minor house repairs, snow removal, and other tasks. All you need is a heart to serve older people!
POTLUCK SUNDAYS & FELLOWSHIP MEALS. University has a monthly fellowship lunch following morning services. Workers in this ministry help set up tables, serve food and drinks, and clean up after the meal.
GRILL TEAM. Each year, University has special events that involve grilling, including Picnic in the Park, VBS Open House, and various banquets. Workers in this ministry cook on the grill, set up and take down tables, along with other tasks.
