Canyon, WTAMU, Amarillo, and the surrounding area have a large population of people from all over the world who are looking for opportunities to practice and improve their English conversation skills.
FriendSpeak and Let’s Start Talking ministries use a simplified version of the Bible with workbooks that build vocabulary, comprehension, and knowledge of the Bible. Jesus’ life and work is presented first by studying Luke, then Acts, other books of the New Testament, and finally highlights from the Old Testament.
Local FriendSpeak Workers can serve face to face with a local Reader for one (1) hour a week. Another way to serve is through Let’s Start Talking. Workers meet with an international Reader using technology such as WhatsApp, Skype, Facetime, or Zoom and a digital workbook supplied to the Reader.
Again the sessions are typically one (1) hour per week. Canyon and Amarillo Workers currently read with Readers from Brazil, Thailand, Mexico, South Korea, Germany, Ukraine, China, and Tanzania.
You, as a Worker, can spread God’s Word to the world from your home as you develop a friendship with an international Reader and help that person come to faith and salvation.
