Stuff the Buffs/Life Groups/International Student Lunches
Serving food is a great way to reach out to college students. They enjoy home cooking and memorable relationships established through eating together.
This ministry provides an opportunity for a university student to develop a close relationship with one of our church families. It is a mutual adoption. Families have students in their home and the university students invite families to their university events. The goal for this ministry is for the campus parents and students to contact each other at least once a month. Relationships developed through this ministry often last far beyond the college years.
FriendSpeak International Student Bible Study
West Texas A&M University has students from all over the world. Also, the English as a Second Language Institute (ESLI) is located on campus next to our Bible Chair building. Most international students are looking for opportunities to practice their English and learn about American culture. FriendSpeak uses a simplified version of the Bible to help international students with their English speaking and comprehension skills. Workers in this ministry can do mission work without leaving home.
